Book talk at Stenton

April 4 @ 12:30 pm

Join Amy Cohen as she discusses Black History in the Philadelphia Landscape: Deep Roots, Enduring Legacy at this historic home that has undertaken a major initiative to investigate and represent the role of Black servants and enslaved people working in (and even saving) the house and grounds.

In a vividly illustrated presentation, Amy Cohen will discuss the long and influential presence of African Americans in Philadelphia and how this history is reflected in monuments, markers, murals, and so forth. Her talk will frame the significance of the upcoming unveiling of the Dinah Memorial at Stenton on April 20th.

Guests are welcome to bring their own lunch to this talk. This event is free but advanced registration is required.
